It’s pretty easy these days to find out information about Cloud Computing. A simple search online provides 33 million+ sites and suggestions about the topic. We visited the “cloud” topic throughout 2011, but have the opportunity to visit it again and learn about a local company that many of us didn’t even know existed. They’ve been providing cloud solutions to their clients with a state-of-the-art data center and a staff with a breadth of skill-sets and service oriented culture, First National Technology Solutions provides clients with an exceptional level of service. More than co-location for their IT infrastructures, customers want to focus their personnel on their business including applications and IT strategy and they look for a partner to take over the day-to-day administration of their systems, storage, network and backup infrastructure. “We have always felt that in order to provide the most value to our clients, we need to be providing managed and personal services not just co-location space.” Kim Whittaker, VP, Sales and Marketing.

Building on the excitement of growing our chapter in 2011, we felt it was a great opportunity to include Whittaker and Luther Starks from FNTS. Both Whittaker and Starks have roots in the local community and First National Technology Solutions is a subsidiary of First National of Nebraska Inc. (FNNI), a multi-state holding company headquartered in Omaha, Nebraska. Along with their Omaha connections, FNTS is AITP Omaha’s first Enterprise Membership – they currently have 5 active members in our chapter.

Join us as Whittaker and Starks spend some time talking about Cloud Computing - what it is; how it is being adopted; why it works for people; and things to consider when looking at cloud solutions. This is a topic we’re familiar with, but we’ll learn how they’ve continued to improve and enrich the IT community in Omaha with their expertise.
